God's Expectations
In the New Testament, Jesus teaches us to live by two great commandments:
1. Love God
2. Love Others
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
— Matthew 22:37–39
The Great Commission
Jesus also commands His followers to go and make disciples, baptize them, and teach them His commands.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
— Matthew 28:19–20
What Does This Mean?
As followers of Christ, we can think about our walk with God in three simple ways:
What Does God Ask of Us?
As followers of Christ, Scripture teaches us to:
MAKE DISCIPLES
Share the Gospel and help others learn to follow Jesus.
Why? Jesus calls His followers to make disciples and teach others to follow His commands.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations... teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
— Matthew 28:19–20
Making disciples means sharing the message of Jesus, helping others grow in their faith, and encouraging them to follow Christ.

Publicly identify ourselves with Christ through baptism.
Why? Jesus instructed His followers to be baptized as part of becoming His disciples.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
— Matthew 28:19
Baptism is an outward expression of our faith in Jesus and represents our identification with His death, burial, and resurrection.

Baptism is one of God's clear expectations — a public act of faith and obedience in response to the gospel. Explore the key Scriptures and continue to Waypoint 4 for the complete teaching.
Explore BaptismGIVE GENEROUSLY
Give back to God from what He has provided and use what we have to help others.
Why? Scripture teaches us to give willingly, generously, and with a joyful heart.
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
— 2 Corinthians 9:7
Giving is an act of worship and gratitude. We give because everything we have ultimately comes from God, and our generosity can help support the work of the Church and those in need.

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together... but encouraging one another."
— Hebrews 10:24–25
