What Is the Church?
Christian Expressions
Understanding the different ways Christians worship, gather, and live out their faith.
One Faith, Many Expressions
Christianity is the world's largest religion, and within it exists a rich diversity of Christian expressions—each shaped by history, theology, culture, and a sincere desire to follow Jesus Christ. These expressions may differ in areas such as baptism, communion, church leadership, worship practices, and the interpretation of certain doctrines. Yet, across these differences, Christians share core beliefs: Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, Scripture is the Word of God, and salvation comes through faith in Him.
This page offers a respectful, educational overview of major Christian expressions. It is not meant to declare one expression superior to another, but to help you understand the landscape of the Church and find a community where you can grow in your faith.
Beliefs and practices can vary significantly within each denomination. The descriptions below are general overviews rather than universal statements. Individual congregations may differ from these summaries.

Finding Your Church Home
No matter which expression resonates with you, the most important thing is to find a community of believers where the Word of God is faithfully taught, where you are loved and known, and where you can grow in your walk with Christ. The Church — in all its expressions — is the body of Christ in the world.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.
