The Bible
What Is the Bible?
The Bible is the collection of 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, inspired by God and written through human authors as His authoritative revelation to humanity. It reveals who God is, His truth and redemptive plan through Jesus Christ, His will for His creation and His people, and how He calls us to live.
Authoritative Scripture
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
— 2 Timothy 3:16
One Bible. One Unfolding Story.
Although the Bible contains 66 books written across many generations, its message develops as one connected story—from Creation and God's covenant with His people to Jesus Christ, the growth of the Church, and the hope of eternity.
